i was looking into getting itb's for my rsx. i want to know if i need to change the cams with it or not. i understand the other stuff that going with it, i.e. fuel lines and pressure regs and vacuum lines, etc... can i run an intercooler on the car to get the temp in a good range without a turbo?
Get an 06 Civic SI intake manifold (RBC). IPS K2's and valve train. SSR, RCrew or SMSP header and full 3" exhaust. Tune. The car will be fast and a pleasure to drive.
Or get ITB's and spend lots of time tuning the car. Diveability will be hit or miss, depending on your tuner.

Don’t listen to that noob ^^ ...an intercooler and itb’s will make for a sick dd. Make sure you get an intercooler sprayer too for those 100+ degree days.
Edit: better idea!
Run teh DC race header with the inlet of the intercooler piping at the end of the collector and have the intercooler piping on the other end empty over the itb’s…uninterrupted self sufficient air supply FTW…

^^^^ thats messed up.
throw the intercooler idea out of the window.
get a good intake manifold and throttlebody.
a good set of cams and valvesprings go a long way on a k20 motor.

my friend just dyno'd his k20 type-r
222whp--bolt ons...
206whp bolt ons and ITB's....
took forever to tune and came out with less power...spent about 7 hrs on the tuning...$900 and they gave us a discount...
i heard....when people do a "street car" with the itb's with the k20 like 6month later they usally go turbo...

cant use intercooler on na cars, want all na, i already have the above listed stuff, need to know if i should change valves, valve springs, cars, cam gears and all that othe fun **** to go with the itbs, how do itbs usually add to the cars performance and whp?
they flow alot more air than ur stock intake manifold and most modifed manifolds. if your going itb's then get cams, springs, retainers, cam gears and a good tuning program.

It's the tuner, not the ITB's.
Some guys have seen big gains with ITB's on basically stock rsx.
They are hard to tune, most guys don't know the intricate details with alpha-n tuning.
Only Hayward and Hytech have ITB's that fit the rsx. Tons of midrange power and throttle response, small gains up top because of the runner length used to get around the power steering.
No intercooler on N/A cars, check out Clubrsx. com and k20a. org

so heres what im thinking what makes you think that you need a intercooler to cool down your motor when you have a aluminum block and head thats just stupid and also why would your temp go krazy with itbs its not turbo remember its not forcaed induction its naturally aspirated.......why do you want to run itbs and dont even know how the whole system is going to work or how to set up, and second your talking about cams valves retainers etc.. but you dont even know about itbs so why would you want to mess with internal stuff like cams and or lift duration .. and 9bells is right its not itbs that made that k20r slower it was just the tuner not trying to be a dick but damn ya know do research on your ish ya know ! GL either way
