Motorcucle Helmet Noise TEST!
typically the most expensive helmets are the noisiest. they tend to be thinner to make them lighter. shoei x-11's and arai rx7 corsair's are usually on top of the list for the noisiest helmets, and they cost $450-550 in just a plain black/white/silver color.

after riding with mine for the first time i dont ever want to ride without them. on the down side, they make high speeds so seem so fast

I can't tell exactly how loud my HJC is because I've never worn another helmet. I assume that it's loud because it was really cheap.
I'm probably going to go try on some more at the dealership this weekend when I get my 6k service done, hopefully, when I get a new one, it'll be lighter and quieter than my HJC.

My old HJC CL-12 is noticeably quieter than my Shoei Rf-1000 at most any speed. I am assuming it has to do with the HJC's lack of good ventilation, and its overall beefier construction. The HJC is way heavier, and thicker than my Shoei...
Although the Shoei is hands down the better helmet in terms of ventilation, comfort, fit, and weight... a pair of ear plugs were all that I needed to make my RF-1000 the perfect helmet for me.

crashing with ear plugs is crazy.... when i low sided at 85mph on the track with my ear plugs... it was so quiet and calm.. i somehow just slid on my knees for a little bit and then stood up. no adrenaline or anything. just pure silence.

as much as that would suck, it almost seems like it would be fun
