um suspension should be your first order of business on any swap. So should brake upgrades.

new suspension, 4 wheel disc big brakes, put H22 in a dumpster and buy a GSR motor with a B16 head.

See if you can find the suspension off a wrecked 99-00 SI. You could take the rear suspension off that, master cylinder, and brake porportioning valve. That should be sufficent for the time being... you can do a fastbrakes front brake upgrade at a later time if you feel the need. The Koni Yellow shock is a good shock for the money IMO. H&R springs, or Neuspeed race are good springs. Good luck!

the topic = prep work for h22, also hence he asked about swapping an h22 what other things he should do...didn't say anything about other motor suggestions.

as for upgrades, good rims/tires, strong axles (yes, strong) from driveshaftshop.com, good mounts, upgrade brakes, and put integra performance springs in there, and you'll be set.

hey, he hasn't made the mistake of putting an H22 in his car yet. if he is staying naturally aspirated, he should use a GSR bottom end with a B16 head. that is the route he should take, considering that that chassis was designed for a B series motor and he can use other stock honda parts for the swap, axles, shift linkage, ecu. all plug and play.

and how exactly is putting an h22 in a civic a mistake?

h22 is king in both n/a and fi fields in hard core racing, who wouldn't want the best.

yes b series motors are good as well
