hey, i have a 1990 honda accord. I, very sloppily, installed my deck, and left a few bare wires, and they touched, let out some smoke, and then the deck powered down, and and the timer dimmed out, and now both will not turn on. I'm guessin i blew a fuse, if so, where is the fuse box located?? i kno, it's a stupid question, but im alil stumpt..haha,

Check under your steering colomn for a removable or hinged panel. My crx has the fuse box located their.

Also, look at the drivers side of the dash or kick panel area. These are other common places manufacturers put fuse panels.

I wish I could be more help, but really not familiar with a 90 accord.

check to the drivers side left hand side, theres a fusebox there i believe.

also, i think the fuse you'd want to be looking for would be under the hood. Either way, look for a cig lighter, interior lights and radio back up. or look for the radio one. check both though if it applies, i know it does for the 94 -97's

 

Why would you knowingly install an electrical component "sloppily"? If you don't have the trade skills to install it in the first place, why would you attempt it. If you are seeing a smoke and a smell, (by assumption), then you got some **** wrong. If you need wire diagrams, or codes then just ask. We will also give you tips on proper installs too.

 

Also fix the problem that you know that you might have before you start replacing fuses. Check the fuses and see if one is blown. If you have on that is blown then check the deck power, 12v constant, 12v switched accessory, and ground. If one of those are dead then there is where your problem is. Seriously though, if you know that you did it sloppy enough to cause something to short out, then take it to a shop and pay the money to have it installed right.

It's my first car, and I waited a long time for the deck, when i finally got it i was very anxious to get it up and runnin, and i already knew the steps to take, jus unfortunately it skipped my mind to tape up 3 wires, it's not that big of a deal. You're acting like i disrespected the car or something. If it really means that much then maybe an appology will help u sleep better bro, my bad.
