Default 92-95 hatch w/newer obd2 motors in california..

So yeah.. got a '99 ex Coupe and thinking about selling and getting a '92-'95 civic hatch and dropping a B18B/B18C into it instead of modding my EX Coupe.

Two questions:

1. In california, is putting a OBD2 motor into an obd1 car a serious pain in the ***? what's involved? I would just get an OBD1 motor but i would like to have a newer engine.

2. Is it possible to add power steering to a '92-'95 hatch after a B swap? I'm spoiled with my EX..

thankx dudes.

1.) putting newer engines into older cars isn't that much of a problem as long as you keep all the emissions stuff intact. That might mean adding things that your car didn't come with stock.

2.) some 92-95 hatches come with power steering and yes, you can add it if you'd like regardless of the original configuration. Not sure why you would, though, since the car's easier to steer without power steering than many vehicles with PS.

really.. the eg hatch is easy to steer without PS? Is it because it's so light and has tiny wheels?

1. Its the same as putting any motor in. If your going to BAR it its alot easier as you just convert it to the obd1 version.

2. If the car comes with PS and you want to keep it then you need an Integra one with the brackets. If it didnt come with one you dont need it.

So OBD1 conversion means what... slapping some integra emissions parts on? or somehow making D series emission stuff work with the new generation motor?

Civic and Integra emissions are all the same. OBD's change what they have. All you would do is convert everything to OBD1 and run the civic emissions, very easy and simple.
