92 honda accord with f22a6 questions about putting a 94 2.2l sohc vtec head on?
you have a great motor..if I was you I'd do alot or reading on that paticular motor and start planning to turbo it...the have threads on putting a H22 head on a F22 block there called G-series motors. Do a search on G-series and youll come up with mass loads of threads of people who do it...
here's a link to do the SOHC swap

I wouldn't do that I would just put delta cams,h23 intake manifold,f22a4 headers from the 90-91 ex,exhaust cold air intake,and your good because those motors have a lot potential especially when boosted.
As far as the f22b head swap goes its kinda hard.The h23 head would be easier being its DOHC and no vtec.

What makes the A4 exhaust manifold better than the A6 exhaust manifold?
What makes the A4 exhaust manifold better than the A6 exhaust manifold?
the f22a4 manifold is like a header and all the other f 22 are cast steel and tend to crack

I don't know all the differences between the F22A1, F22A4 and F22A6 but...
to my knowledge all F22 exhaust manifolds are cast. This is the first I've heard of cast F22 exhaust manifolds having a tendency to crack
also, I thought the A6 exhaust manifold was a 4-2-1 design?
and correct me if I'm wrong but...
F22A1 = 125hp/137tq
F22A4 = 130hp/142tq
F22A6 = 140hp/142tq
doesn't the A6 make more power than the A1 and A4 due to it's dual runner intake manifold, different cam and 4-2-1 exhaust manifold?

It would be ideal to keep the A1~A6 heads...as the non-vetc F heads flow much better than the vtec ones.
The A1 and A6s have different cam profiles, exhaust systems and ecu programs, hence the difference in power.
If you need parts to imporve your non-vtec F22, give us a call. We build and design parts for the most powerful and reliable F22 engines on the planet.

I second that emotion thatks for the clarifacation bisi

Actually, since this thread was posted back in 2007. It has been shown that the Non VTEC and VTEC F22B1/2 & F23A* series heads have better flow at low and mid valve lift areas. As well as equal flow at higher lift. Only difference is if you want to spend $5k on head porting and valve train upgrades. Only then would the F22A (PT3) series heads be considered more efficient. Cams can be head for any of these heads now.
As far as where to by F series parts these days. I would say Race Engineering.com or Xenocron.com would be your best bet. Great customer service from both of these companies!
