ups would be....um i duno. i guess it depends on how much boost ur putting down. if the boost was up say...i duno past..13 psi? 12 maybe... then u run the risk of cracking the plastic manifold.. the design is ok on it.. the air kind of just drops in so its not that bad of a design if ur not boosting so much.. if ur daily driving 7psi then there really arnt any PROVEN downs about it.... i mean there really isnt any manifolds man for anyone NOT putting down serious boost.. (seirous= 13 and up or something liek that)

maybe im wrong but reading around that seems to be the jist of it.. of course like isaid, once u get into the higher levels of boost it will crack.. and the flow wont be great and probably restricting... thats where the custom one would come in..

if im wrong just let me know, im not turbo guru but that seems to be the idea...

thanks...

the reason why i ask this question is because my custom intake manifold hasn't came in yet...

and it still won't be ready for another 2 weeks...(thanks JDM Fabtech for the looooooong wait)....

and im going to the supra meet in vegas next week..

i wanted to tune my car, but im not sure if i can tune it the the specific amount of lbs of boost....im shooting for 21 psi because its fully built....

i wanted it tuned before i go

you have to wait for good things you know... 21 PSI is pretty high too... how much power are you looking for?

downs: can crack at mild boost like the 15psi range...

ups: you dont have to port it

wait for a dezod intake mani or do a ported y8 setup

Please tell me your not considering cracking it and not worrying about it... if you really bust a nut... no seal=no compression=no "boost"... along with other things...
