Default TB coolant bypassed? Insulated Gaskets? Under hood tempratures? Looking for 10 HP

Looking to squeeze out the last few drops of power out. Contemplating bypassing the TB coolant line. Question will there be and drive ability problems if I do and has anyone done this and gotten positive results.

Intake manifold Insulated gaskets. I heard they leak after a wile, I don't know first hand. Is it worth the pain in the A** to pull off your Intake manifold and what kind of results have you guys gotten.

Now I see someone selling TB Insulated gaskets Anyone got feedback on these?

You won't really see much of a gain if any with a TB bypass by itself. But combine it with a Insulated IM Gasket and theres a possibility you could gain 10 hp depending on your setup.

Those tips will work for a while, but eventually the manifold and t.b. will absorb heat from the engine bay and your gains will be minimal. I have done both on my GSR but i really can't tell a difference on the BUTT DYNO.

kinda how I feel about it and I'm thinking I'll get 2-3 hp for a hole lot of work that may make the car less reliable.

why would it be less reliable, are you that bad of a mechanic? theres no detrimental effects for any of those 2 mods you just posted, unless u are in alaska... meaning the north pole where u would need coolant running through your TB

Will all of those who have no geographical knowledge and a hankerin to post an insult please stand up?

I'd do it, maybe try wrapping a couple things and keep the heat where it should be.

I bypassed mine and got a hondata intake gasket. it was a lot cuter after IMO. But there wasn't a noticeable difference on the butt dyno. and im sure when it gets cold it will idle like poo on cold startup..

Thanks for the input guys I just put this out there because I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
OK I have a new header on the way, I may wrap it before installing it. I also have a short ram pipe made out of aluminum, which I was planning to replace with a Type R Intake arm from Acura to cut down on heat.
1. Anyone know the inside Diameter of the Type R one? I can easily bypass the TB so I may try that but unless you guys have seen good numbers with the Intake manifold gaskets I'm probably not going to do that.
2.One more question for the tuner guys, Is it possible to get over 190 HP with stock GSR injectors and a HP fuel pump and a Crome engine management system?

Yeah, you might see gains if the car is on the dyno and you got a cold engine bay, but once it gets hot, the manifold will absorb the heat and your gains will be minimal or non.

I have datalogged the difference with/without the Hondata intake gasket on the street. The intake air temps were ~ 20 degrees cooler with the Hondata gasket.

that's interesting, you mean it stayed 20 deg cooler even after extended driving? i've noticed my intake manifold stays cooler after 20 minutes driving, however anything over that and it's scalding hot like it was before i installed the hondata gasket

yeah, thats what im getting at, for the first couple of minutes, the im stays cold but after a pretty long trip 20-30 mins, it feels just as hot as before the Hondata gasket install, but then again, i haven't measured temps with a laser thermometer or digital software.

The car was driven extensively streets, freeway, stop and go. Temperatures under similar conditions were then compared.
For instance-intake temps at a steady 70 MPH cruise.

So then that equate to like a 2% HP increase then right? Isn't a 10 degree decrease in air temp eqaul to about a 1% HP increase?

Yea,
What kind of hp difference do you think you got from that? Just curious?

Header installed, going to test before I wrap it. I'll let you know the difference.
