Default Is anyone using Comptech's high flow cat. converter

I am currently using a complete comptech setup I/H/E and am looking at getting their High flow cat converter...I am also planning on running Toda B's and am wondering if this setup will run smoothley or is a 2.5" collector needed to prevent bogging out. Thanks for the info...

If you already have a Comptech header and exhaust you are going to be 2 1/4" so a 2 1/2" cat is not going to help much.

I have the Comptech cat (with Comptech i/h/e). It is a quality unit. Have not dynoed it so have no idea how effective it is.

I bought mine used for $200. New is is $370, which is a bit pricey but, unlike many other cats, I have not seen any failure reports.

the high flow cat i heard was okay. I've actually heard that a hollowed out ITR cat worked better but complicates emissions. SMSP is a good suggestion though. A bit on the costly side but nothing decides what goes on your car like you wallet. i think you can actually get something better for your R. Comptech stuff is not all that great, after all its owned by honda. I've gone up against an R thats got Comptech IHE and a VAFC and i still got him with my R when it was stock with only an AEM CAI. Maybe its a driver thing but whatever the case was, i didn't think i would take him that hard especially on the highway. The Toda B's were ok. i've seen an ITR with the B's in there with some extensive tuning and it missed the 200whp mark by .3. http://www.importreview.com has the Dyno runs with the Type R cam, the Toda's and the JUN's. Check those pages out and make up your mind what kind of power you want. Everyone likes Toda because they are a dominant cam maker but lets be honest, half of the people that are Toda fans out like things that other people like. If you talk cams, everyone thinks about CTR, Toda, Crower, Spoon or JUN. I'd trust the JUN not because some magazine said it make good power jumps. I'd trust the JUN cause i've seen the Dyno Charts to prove it with the same baseline settings for each cam.

Good info, I'm more than happy with my comptech setup, i've got 177 WHP with the I/H/E from comptech, a V-AFC, and fuel rail and reg. Like you said it all depends on the driver and their preference. Emission is very important, I was thinking of gutting out my cat but dont want to take the chance of failing when test time comes. Who cares if Comptech is owned by Honda, that doesn't mean that they make weak products...Mugen was once a part of Honda and still has very close ties as does Spoon.

You are basing your opinion on Comptech's i/h/e system based on a drag race on the highway between two drivers of unknown skill? Fer crying out loud.

All the Comptech stuff that I have is of very high quality. Any dyno results that I have seen of Comptech stuff (i/h/e/ECU) have been very good too.
