all lights in my car seem to have a suddle flicker. (dome light, head lights, dash lights)

searched around, i have a feeling its a common car problem due to wiring or grounding...

so whats up?

 

Um do you have a stereo installed? amps and subs? neon lights? We need to know what kind of load your electrical system may be under. Stock shouldnt flicker, but you add stuff, like sub amps, and yeah they will.

 

aftermarket deck, and someone put some kenwood speakers in the back, but thats it.

Tomorrow I'll be installing a JL 300w amp with 2 sets of eclipse speakers...how much are they going to flicker then? lol.

What can I do to increase my electric compacity? I don't want to upgrade alternator just because of some speakers...

Maybe new battery? right now theres a huge interstate55 battery in there, may be old...

 

It sounds like you have a short somewhere. When does it flicker, all the time, while driving?

 

clean your battery terminals and tighten all ground and power wires.

 

Im pretty sure it happens majority of the time. Its pretty unnoticeable unless you sit and stare at the dome light, dash lights, etc. I'll clean and reclamp the battery terminals.

as far as all the grounds, which are you referring too? Isn't there going to be quite a few?

 

Yeah specificly the ground wire's from the battery itself, might as well clean them while your at it. And mabey the one to the altenator.
