i have a full built b16a japan 92motor with a chipped p28 but it will not go past 3200rpm they sayed it was in limp mod and i dont not where to start someone said check your knock sensor, i dont have a o2 sensor but my timing is really mad like when i drive it will not past 3200rpm and it run like **** dose anyone no why

 

you sad it runs like **** and will not rev high sounds like cam tuming, but it should still rev higher than 3200

do you have launch control on your chipped ecu. if your vss is bad then the car thinks its not moving, so launch control would turn on even when moving?

 

this seems similar to something hondata does. if there is a major problem with the engine (in my situation, an injector plug came out so it was running on 3 cylinders) hondata will put the car into \"limp home mode\". basically it retards the timing alot (car is really slow) and makes it run extremely rich to prevent any sort of damage to the car so that you can get home safely. Is it throwing any codes?

Also if you have a knock sensor and its connected, if hondata senses the engine knocking it will retard the timing to try to save the motor. Check that the car isnt running on 3 cylinders, check that all your sensor are plugged in and check for any codes being thrown. let us know!

 

yea i bought a new vss speed-sensor that is what they said to iam waiting on another ecu to get here not chipped i paid 220 for a chipped p28 and cant even use it i have no idea someone said to check your o2 sensor i dont have one right now and to check your knock sensor would that make the car not go past 3200rpm i no it is in limp mod but i dont no what it is from

 

it should not be your knock sensor..cause u have a chipped p28 ecu and it will disable the knock sensor..do u have an CEL??? is your car miss fire?? is your car idel normal?? all the ground wires are connected?? lmk
and one more thing..do u have any knowledge of that chipped p28 ecu?? did u get it chipped by a pro or it came with the engine? try to borrow a ecu from your friends and see if it runs fine...thats the only way to test the ecu..

 

i dont no how to check for code everyone keeps saying the wire is behind your desh and you will have to put a paper clip in the ecu i dont under stain that

it is very easy..unless u want to spend a lot of money to have shop diagnose for u...

it is in limp mode therefore the timing is going to be severely retarted and the car running extremely rich.

 

see the problem is my gauges are not the same in the car i dont have a check engine light to let me no is there a nother way of doing this
