JDM d15b
Hey all, I got a few questions for you d15b all motor guys. First off if any of you guys have a sweet all motor d15b build tell me a bit about it and how its working for you. As for me, im getting a JDM d15b from Hmotors and I wanted to do a bit of an all motor build. The motor seems very strong and worth dumping some cash into so here goes the questions. What bolt ons do you guys recomend for this motor? Thats a broad guestion but more specifcaly, what aftermarket brands as far as headers, exhaust, intake have you guys had expericne with that have worked well with this particular motor? Along the same lines, where are some good sites to find these products? I visit IPP quite a bit but I cant find much along the d15b range in parts. Also Im curious about ITB's, they sound like a lot of fun to put together and will be an interesting cahllange to take on, but some more information from you guys would be nice, kinda some do's and dont's of ITB's if you will. Well, I think thanks all for now.

Im doing a d16y8/d15b7 build. I actually just started it.
Your best bet is to do a mini me swap. Reason is that there is more aftermarket parts for a d16 then a d15.
So if you do a head swap you wil have a much better time finding parts.
Im also doing itb's. Im buying a set of cbr 600rr's and finding out from others on how to make them.
If your doing the mini me and want parts for a d16 head. Go to http://www.tunerschoice.com they are the ****. They have a broad range of things.

</TD></TR></TABLE>??/ what are you talking about? the jdm d15b has a p08 head which is identical to the Z6 head, but with a slight larger cam. the jdm D15b vtec engine is a great little engine, ive driven cars with them and seen them go. they are really impressive. in the right car(weight) it can be a fun combo to drive.
BTW mini-me's suck compared to a d15b. the bottom end isnt worth building on a b7 because of the smaller rod journals. at least the d15b has the ex rods with a custom piston paired to the custom 1.5 crank, i believe the longer rod enable the engine to have a better R/S ratio.

Hey thanks for the input guys, keep it coming. I think im going JDM D15b though, just because its fresh and It has a better botom end. I would pose the question, can I use a 1.6L head to make aftermarket parts purcahsing easier?
the jdm D15B basically has the same head as our D16z6, so every aftermarket part for one will work for the other.
ITBs require higher cr that stock offers, plus a cam, plus tunning. so if your serious about it, youll end up paying way more than you want to.

i have a jdm d15b-vtec spec engine from japan and i need help. The ECU is american and i think that is not recieving the right info from the engine. WHen i turn it on it has a really rough idle, up and down from 1500 to 2000, it goes down and up down and up, but after half hour i turn the ace which does not work becuase of compressor but cools a little bit the reving problem goes away. The temperature starts from hot to cold, instead of cold to hot and the gas signal is not working so it does not show me how much gas i have and when i its start gives me the signal that it has no gas i get it to the gas station and put gas on it but it only lets me put 9.70 gallons of gas, i guess there is something wrong with it. I need help it also has 8.5-10 mph of what im really going or driving. can anyone help
