Z6 block, bracket, mount. Y7 alternator.

With the alt adjusted all the way back, there is still a couple inches or so of slack in the belt. Compared the Y7 alt mount to a Z6, as well as the bracket, and they're the same. This makes me think the belt length is different for the two, or maybe the alt pulley is different in size. I don't have a Z6 alt and I need to get my car running today. Can I use a smaller belt for it to work?

 

Yes you can use a smaller belt, even if you get one thats TOO small, and u need the car today you can just skip over the ac pulley for the time being

 

Don't need an AC belt if thats what you were referring to the AC for (no AC for me).

Charging the battery after troubleshooting some CELs so I can make it to the parts store to get a belt.

 

Got a smaller belt on it and it works good. I'll post the brand and P/N tomorrow incase anybody else has this problem.
