Default What should comp. test be for b16a head on b18c1 block? Thanks

Hi I am just about to do a compression on my motor and want to know what numbers to look for? I have a 94 b18c1 gsr block and 1st gen b16a head everything stock on the inside. Thanks for your help

Should be around 220, but what really matters our all 4 numbers being close together.

Like 220,210,205,210

If you had 220,205,110,220

You would have a bad cylinder

ok thanks for the reply I just did my test and I got 165-164-165-170 would this be good also would I expect to have lower compression than a stock gsr because I have a b16a head on a gsr block? Thanks

Yes, that's a perfectly healthy motor.

the motors i test are usually around 245....u must be sure to hold the trottle wide open when doing the test

And crank it the same number of times for each cylinder.

this is the correct answer......


also, different brand compression testers put out different numbers. you want them to be uniform or somewhat similar.
