pipings and hp
I just bought a universal muffler, but haven't had it installed yet. I'm considering whether to get 2.5" custom cat-back pipe or keep the pipe stock. I've heard differnet opinions/comments, so I don't know what to do.
For the same price (~ $150), I can either keep it stock or custom cat-back. The problem is, some people said that if I don't have an intake, it's better to keep the pipe stock since I will lose hp instead of gain if I change the pipe to 2.5 inches.
Any suggestions?

I don't know why they said I'll lose hp either. It was a shop that told me, but this is not the shop that offers custom cat-back. He was going to install it on the stock pipe using an adopter cause my stock pipe is 1.x" and the muff inlet is 2.5".
The inlet is 2.5" all the way thru, but the tip is 4.5". A friend of mine said in this case, the sound will be very deep. Is it true? I have no clue what he's talking abt cause he jokes around a lot and he only suggest going for cat-back.

go with 2.25" piping cat-back.....2.50" is "said" to be too big on an N/A setup and you will lose power or should i say not gain any power....but yeah go with custom 2.25"....2.5"-3" for turbo...
