Default My 570whp H23a1 Set-up by AV Engineering

I would like to thank Anthony at AV Engineering for making my dream set-up come true! The power and torque on this car is INSANE. Anthony was going to rev the car a little higher since the motor was still making power past 7500rpms but as this is a daily driven set-up I wanted the redline set at 7400 for daily driving. When at the track I will rev a little higher but for right now I would like to enjoy the car before taking it to the track. In the future I plan on running slicks and shooting for low 11's/high 10's.

Anthony also designed his first set of Prelude Traction bars for my set-up and they allow full range of suspension travel unlike the other kits out there and perform great with zero binding issues. Below are a few pictures of the traction bars but Anthony does not want me to show everything as he's waiting for his patent to finalize before the release. These bars made it easy for Anthony to fit a custom 3.5" downpipe. There's enough room with these bars that a 5" downpipe could fit with no problems. In the video you will see the engine flex a little bit because we did not have the front mount hooked up at the time of the dyno. Anthony had to make a few changes to the front mounting bracket.

The car made 439whp/345tq at 16psi on the first day of base tuning. A few days later we brought the car back to fine tune some things and due to outside conditions the power dropped a little bit. Anyways, it ended up making 570whp/429ftlbs of torque with only 25psi. This was in 98 degree temperatures with 52% humidity. This is a H23a1 NON-VTEC motor by the way. I don't want to list everything done to my car but below is a quick overview of the parts used:

Sorry guys i suck at posting. I fixed it and added pictures and the video of the 500whp dyno pull. I dont think we had the 570whp pull on video but i'll see if anthony has it.

looks like a very well planned project with good results..

Why iridium plugs for high boost?

AV has been local to me for years and never got around to check them out. Their numbers have been impressive. How did the ACT 6 Puck Sprung Clutch hold up? Did it slip at all or did it have more to go? You think you could have gotten 600 out of it?

This build was very well planned to say the least. I would like to thank Kevin for being so patient with everything since there was a ton of custom fabrication on this set-up. The traction bars took much longer than originally anticipated but they turned out great.

I used the Iridium plugs since they are the only resistor style plug that is a -9. I'd like to thank Tony1 for throwing me the part number while I was at advanced auto parts trying to find the plugs, lol. The 5238's are non-resistor plug and a few days before I dyno'd this car I ran into a datalogging issue on a 2.0 gsr gt40r set-up. So to make sure nothing like this happened I stepped up to the Iridium plug. On the street this car is running the 3330 plug at 16psi which is making 439whp.

The ACT 6 Puck Sprung clutch holds up pretty damn well. It's rated at 494ft-lbs and it held the 430ft-lbs with no problem at all. Doostur try to swing by the shop for the HT meet next month so you can check everything out.

On a nice cool day this car would have made all of 600whp. If you look at the first dyno chart there was a 20whp difference due to conditions. I'm sure another psi of boost would have hit the marker but we were running low on injector and I didn't want to run lean just to brag that the car made 600whp.

How's daily driving with that 3.5" downpipe? I'm having scraping issues with my 3" now it's sits almost identical with yours. I would hate to raise my car up seeing that I have the ride height exactly where I want it...and this is with 17" rims.

I dont think that I have scraped the exhaust yet. The car has coilovers and I have about an inch of gap in the front between the tire and fender and an inch and a half in the back. The traction bars do scrap sometimes becuase the flage hangs down a lil low on them but I dont think that it has hurt anything. Cars running great now that I got an alignment and oil change.

The whole time I drove the car the exhaust didn't scrape once. I only snagged the flex-pipe on the downpipe which was due to the fact it wasn't running an exhaust and positioned at the highest angle at the time.

The nice thing about the traction bars is that tow hooks are incorperated with the flange. It makes it easy as pie strapping a car down on the dyno
