Best Sub/Amp combo for the money? Should I run 2 or 1?
I currently have 1 MTH Thunder 5500, hooked up with a cheapo walmart amp, it bumps, but I want better SQ. .
I have about $400-$500 to spend if needed.. but obviously the cheaper the better..
Here are my options I am considering..
Buy another MTX Thunder 5500 and push 2 10"s, and use a cheaper amp
or
Just use my current sub, and invest in a really nice amp
or
sell my sub to my friend, and use new subs and amp but for under 400-500?
I want really deep bass, I don't care how loud the bass is, I just want really good quality bass. Qulity over Quantity!
What would you guys suggest?

Toss that cheap amp and buy a mtx amp or a quality amp. And build a enclosure to match that sub and you will have some deep bass and sq at the same time. Thats a nice sub.
I found an infinity 611a amp for $150 shipped on SD, I may jump on that.
In a small truck, like an s10 or ranger, would a ported or sealed enclosure soung best? I like the deep thump more than the rattle..

I have to agree, the MTX Thunder 5500 series is a pretty good sub, [I assume it's a T5510-04 or -44] a 300W continuous power handling sub.
Stick with a sealed box, clean, tight and accurate sub bass.
The Infinity REF661A is a 1x456W RMS into 4 ohms and 1x657W into 2 ohms, so as long as your sub is the -04 then it will work for one or two of them.
