Questions about tube-frame front end...
First of all, does anybody have any pics I could browse? I'm thinking about doing some tube-work in my car to open up some space.
Very generally speaking...
Do you just chop off the frame-rails at some point, weld a big steel plate to it, and then from there span out with your tube frame?
Do you have to have a cage installed in the car to support a tube-frame front end?
I tried doing some searches but didn't find quite the info I would like before I dive into this kind of project.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm talking about doing just the engine bay section to open up some room. I've seen this done before, and I'm just kind of looking for some more info on this type of setup.
