okay my exhaust on my 5th gen accord is making a louder sound when it idles around 2000 rpm....it is an automatic....and i had it fixed about 1 and half ago and now it is coming back...does anyone know what is going on?? it makes a lower sound than normal and its a stock exhaust...

 

You may have developed another exhaust leak or you have a mid-pipe buzz. Stick your head under it with the car running to see if you hear the leak anywhere.

 

I have the EXACT same noise. Mine sounds like it is coming from the exhaust manifold area when I have the hood up and rev'ed to 2000 rpm. I've heard one of two things. Heat shield rattle and somekind of pipe inside of the exhaust pipe that has broken free and rattling. I doubt mine is a heat shield rattle.

Could possibly have a broken catalytic converter then.

 

i will look into it when i get home...i am at work at the moment...and about the mid-pipe buzz...what is that??
