ported b16a head vs. ported b18c head?
I could not find this when I searched so I was wondering why do most people put a pnp b16 head on their builds opposed to pnp b18c head? I am asking this because I have b18c1 and I plan on swaping out the block for a b20. Could I keep my b18 head and get it pnp or would it be better to switch to a b16 head pnp? Thanks
yea pretty much. and i had it sitting in my garage for about a year so i figured y not. the gsr has a smaller combustion chamber which will yield a higher compression ratio.

^^^^^ i agree. and the gsr head is NOT the same as the b16 head. the gsr head has a smaller combustion chamber, the quench pads are different. the b16 head is the same as the itr head but only in the cast. the b16 and it head cast numbers are PR3 there the same cast but different internally.

Keep the GSR head. It'll save you the money from buying a new intake setup, manifold, and other small associated parts needed when switching over. There's no huge advantage going with a b16 at all, so I wouldn't do it.
