Valve Adjustments
i have not been in this forum before cause im always in the crx/civic's.
my 91 civic 4dr had a b20b engine in it, possibly a 98. my question is, Does anyone know the SPECs for valve adjustments for my engine? the exhaust side and intake side.
my motor is knocking really hard i need my car for school, but i dont dare to even drive my car right now, it was already a struggle to drive my car home from pleasanton, ca to san jose after the meet hosted my jdm theory.
anyone with information please let me know, or link me to a step by step on how to do so. thanks

What does the knocking sound like?
EDIT: i know that sounds stupid, but when does it happen etc.. I'd like to know what it sounds like, my car makes a knocking noise when i stomp on the gas... Was wondering if it may be the same thing.

Valve noise is not going to produce a knock noise. It's going to sound like an old diesel engine. I'll have to look under my cr-v's hood and see what it is. I'll do it in a little while.
well, the knocking starts when the car starts lil noise, when i hit the gas the knocking gets louder, i mean my brother had this problem long ago when he had a b20. i let the car sit in N and i poped the hood, the sound is knocking from the right side of the valve cover near the cams
need help asap cause i need my car for school.

The specs are:
Intake valves - .10mm
Exaust - .18mm
These must be adjusted cold (below 100degrees I prefer under 95). You need a 10mm wrench and a "flat head" screw driver, and the correct size feeler gauges. Make sure you adjust them in the proper order.

After you are done with the 4 valves on cylinder 1, move on to cylinder 3, 4, then 2, in that order. You will need to crank the motor to TDC for each of the cylinders you will be adjusting.
