Default B20 V-tec help

i have a 92 civic hatch with a b20 vtec in it. i just recent got the car. now my questions.

Why does the car pop a check engine light when it passes 7500rpm?

the ecu is a p28 chipped for dual vtec.

my cars set up

B20 block
98 gsr head
ITR cam
AEM cam gears
jasma headers
blox intake manifold
ice man intake
straight pipe
apexi exhaust
vtec controller
94 ls tranny

What else do i need to make it faster??? any free mods...

I am going to be racing this car in 2 weeks against a 93 civic hatch with type R swap. unknown mods... money is on the line...

any help would be great

thanks in advance

1. get a b16 or gsr tranny

2. you only have ONE header

3. you don't have dual vtec...there isn't such a thing.

There is but not for his application and its not even a real 2nd vtec its some econ thing. Comes with the VX engines i believe.

Either way you more then likely have a shift light put on the ecu in the form of a check engine light if it goes away when the rpms drop from 7500.

it is pretty obvious he means its chipped for a dohc. there is no need to try and make him look stupid. and for the check engine light it is a shift light that can b set with w\e program u r running.
