Default Radio Question

Bought a 2001 Civic w/o radio. Put one in, but brackets are missing, so it sits loose, until I get those pieces. Could that cause AM not to play? FM is fine. I ran a jumper wire to ground, but no change. Ideas? Thankyou.

If your FM works then your AM should work. Also these have no correlation on if your radio is bolted onto a bracket in the dash.

Yes, I know AM should work, and I want it to, and it won't, so that's why I posted. I'm old, therefore I listen to AM talk radio and sports. Stock radio, bought on eBay, the seller says it's my antenna, not the radio he sold me. Natually.
Thanks for looking.

LOL @ "I'm old, therefor I listen to AM..." (Sorry couldn't help it)

Hm, I've never encountered an AM problem with an antenna.

My gut feeling is that you bought a bum radio that has minor problems (therefor the AM won't work)... ebay scares me... What was the sellers reputation like?

Yeah, sounds like a duff head unit to me too. If one frequency band works i'm sure the other should too.

Unless i'm wrong of course, i'm only guessing so.
