New Civic Hatch Owner-Roof Scoop?
Hey guys, I just bought a '91 Civic Hatch to replace my old DD (228,000 mi Ford Ranger with a blown motor). The Civic will help save some wear and tear on my s2000. It looks alright and was a bargain for $600.
Regardless, I want it looking half way good, and maybe down road, turn it into an auto-x car.
Anyway, the dweb that owned the car before me put in a sunroof using a Sawz-All and some wood screws. I was thinking about patching it with another piece of sheet metal. I am a little nervous about welding over the interior. What do you guys think an roof scoop would look like on a hatch? I think it would be a little easier to install. Anyone do a roof scoop before?...Any pics? Thanks.

Ideally, a new roof is what I want to do, but that is a lot of work...removing the windshelid, etc. Plus, they don't recommend it for noob's, and I am no expert by any means. I was kind of thinking cover the crap sunroof with a fiberglass roof scoop; and still have some functionality from the hole in my roof. I just wanted to know if that'd look queer or be hard to do. Thanks though.

the way it looks is up to the individual.
i dont think molding in a roof scoop would be any harder than a flat piece molded into the roof though.
