Need some input. D15B DPFI
Ok, have an 88 Civic Dx.
When i got the car it had a hole in the block at the #1 Cylinder.
I got a JDM D15 Block and Head to replace the blown one. Got the new motor in, and everything back together.
Here is the issue.. It will not start, there is a lot of fuel going into the Number #1 port on the intake and into the cylinder. Enough that with all the plugs out cranking the motor over it will spray fuel out of the #1 Plug hole high enough to hit the hood..
Any ideas? I have about 4 days and then i'm going to have to have the car towed 600 miles if i can't get it running..

Have Spark, and have triple checked the timing.
It just seems as though there is a ton of fuel giong to #1 and very little to the rest of the cylinders.
Also a note, the fuel hitting the hood is only coming from Cyl #1.

Did you use the original DPFI manifold?
Reason I ask is because if you're only getting fuel over flow out of one cylinder, it wouldn't make sense since the DPFI uses only two fuel injectors further up the manifold which isn't pointed directly at any cylinder.

Yes it is the original manifold, the only things i swaped out were the head and block.
But thinking more about this now it could explain why the previous block blew a hole in the side of the #1.. excess fuel? Problem with the Intake?
The question is, how do i fix it or should i just get a new intake?

I did the same swap on my 88 hatch and I forgot to plug the wiring harness on to the starter, its a little a prong that sticks up from the starter. Im just saying because I had everything wired up correctly, and it still wouldn't start until I did that. Once I did that it started
It could be your battery or starter though. Oh shnap! I did'nt realize this thread was a few months old... :/
