Re-clear coating GSR blades?

Re-clear coating GSR blades?
Tried searching but couldn't find any good threads on re-clearing bare metal wheels...just found a bunch of "how to polish" threads. I heard wet sanding with 1500 will do but has anyone tried it? I really don't want to go through the polishing process and maintenance. My wheels look like crap
