Do you guys run A/C or P/S (or both) with your all motor builds?

I'd like to keep the A/C but I've been told to ditch the P/S because it's "unsafe" at high speeds.

It kinda makes sense to want to eliminate any mechanical assistance when running at high speeds especially with all the curving mountain roads here in Puerto Rico but what do you guys do?

Also how much am I gaining HP wise by removing the P/S pump and or the A/C compressor?

I run A/C and power steering on my ITR. Unsafe? No. Ditching the A/C and power steering will net you ~ 5 WHP.
When it was over 100 degrees a couple of weeks ago, I was more than happy that I chose to give up that 5 WHP

I won't say it's unsafe at all. Being all motor means different philosophies to everyone. Some feel that stripping everything off your motor and car "not needed" is the purest form of all motor. My own philosophy is to have a comfortable daily driver with all accessories that is fast all motor, so I would never think about removing those things. If I drove my car on a racetrack everyday, I guess it would make sense to strip the accessories but driving on roads mostly everyday, I would rather be slightly less quick and a lot more comfortable.

I removed my PS as a convenience of not having to source parts etc after the swap. But retained AC because I felt the benefit ought weighted the weight. No pun intended.

A/C and power steering is a must for a DD. I see most guys ditching them now to show their shaved engine bay.

I pulled off my A/C, in Oregon we don't need it that much. But on hot days, I just drive the MDX anyway.

Couldn't live w/o my PS though. I ran w/o PS for a week while I waited for my upper PS pump bracket and it was HELL!!!

I guess it wouldn't have been so bad if I had a non-PS rack though. That does make a difference...

When I was young and dumb I pulled my A/C out of my car. When your 18 it doesn't matter, but when your 25 it sucks.

i dont run either of them i took my a/c awhile ago an my car didnt even come with power steering. i like not having power steering. as long as u have a manual rack in it ull be fine its not hard to drive.

its all the lil kids who lean there seat back like whoa that dont like a manual rack.

There is a big difference between not functioning PS and properly removed PS

Indeed.

I love my steering. It's a power rack that still retains lubrication through Padawan's removal kit.

Being my daily driver and my all motor project, there is no way I would take the P/S or A/C out of my car, especially not where I live in Cali when it can get as hot as or hotter than 110 degrees. Like most people have said, it may be worth it if the car is a straight up weekend track car or race car.
