I saw the writeup for engine idle probs. and being that i have a Y8 im lacking the FITV so i decided to contiue with the trouble shooting. So i plugged the IACV hole the TB with my finger and car almost died. Does this mean its going out? cause the write-up doen't exactly make sense. Thanks guys.

with the car running, unplug the iac valve connector & see if it runs better.

 

oh ok. Just out of curiosity should the IACV be sucking while at idle? It has an emense amount of vacume from that little hold befor the butterfly.

 

As long as your y8 has a manual tranny, to check it you should unplug the iac valve and pay attention to how the engine idles. If your engine's idle speed decreases or the engine cuts off all together, it is working properly. Civics with auto trannys or all civics with y7 engines will increase in idle speed in this test. Hope this helps!

 

So i pulled the plug and the car's idle went really low. Then threw a CEL code 14 IACV. So im guessing its all working properly. damn it's running like poo.
