Default camshaft installation question HELP!!!!

Im building my lsv and i have a b16a2 head with all skunk2 valvetrain and stock cams...My question is, is 20 ft. lbs the right torque for the 12mm bolts holding the cam holders? and if so, are my cams hard to turn due to the dual valve springs...it almost seams like it too tight for the timing belt to turn...

thanks

does the motor turn easier, when you take out the spark plugs?

The spark plugs are out. And to correct myself the timing belt is not installed. Just turning by hand is almost impossible. Im sure if i got a socket on it, it would turn easier but by hand im wondering if it should be that tight.

turning the cams by hand isnt easy, especially with stiffer springs.

that normal, try turning it with the timing belt on, if it doesn't wanna turn w/ the TB on, you might have a valve hitting a piston. But just by hand, w/o a wrench, you won't be able to turn your cams

Set the #1 cylinder to top dead center. What's your compression ratio on this setup? You shouldn't be able to turn the cam gears by hand anyways.

comp ratio is between 10:1 and 10.2:1 i have all the plugs out so the cyl pressure is eliminated. and is the cyl #1 tdc the only mark on the crank gear?

There are 4 marks. 3 are together in a group, then there is one that is by itself. That is TDC.

yeah, when your installing the timing belt, match the mark on the timing belt gear to the mark on the oil pump, then line up your cam gears and then install the belt.
Look this up, its a good write up,

Good luck
