Why not? I don't see anything wrong with that...

Don't know how that would even be possible.....

Try the SEARCH button up top and do a search for H22..... you'll find lots of info and testimonials (which is what you're looking for) about the H22 and how it drives & handles in a Civic (including mine about road racing a H22 hatch on practically stock suspension)

Wouldn't that swap be generally for just drags? I've never been in one with the swap, but it seemes like the front end would be super heavy, maybe too heavy for nice cornering and agility...

Straight from the mouth of a hybrid H22 owner...

Ok, not entirely stock, but running Tokico HP shocks (blues), Ground Control Civic spring rates (400/300), NO sway bars, and on stock CX brakes. Took my car out to Buttonwillow the other day for Track Day (great turn out) and took my car out on the course. I had Nitto drag radials up front, crap street tires in the rear. Now for how it handled....

It actually handled pretty good. I left the car in 3rd gear for 2 straight laps and never had to down shift (had to upshift a few times) but even on tight turns, I dropped down to 2000 rpms and it pulled right out in 3rd gear like a champ. The back end was loose but expected w/out sway bars (or weight... car is completed gutted) and there was a lot of chassis roll felt (soft suspension). I had a few experienced auto-x/road race drivers drive my car as I rode shotgun... wow, they drove my car to it's fullest potential and took the turns very smoothly. After they drove, all they could say was that IT WAS FAST! One said that you couldn't use the full potential of the motor because of my suspension setup but he really enjoyed driving my car (and drove it again later that afternoon). The other person (who drives a EG hatch w/ITR swap) was also very impressed and is now seriously considering getting a H22 and ditching his ITR swap... no joke either. He had doubts before with handling & drivability on a H22 Civic so I let him take my car out of for a spin. Granted it wasn't the best handling thing with the current suspension setup but he knew that and was very impressed on how the H22 felt - and all this guy does is auto-x and road race (no drag racing for either of these guys).

That just goes to show you some first hand experience with a H22 Civic, with almost stock suspension, on a road race course. With some suspension tuning, it can be a real killer on the track.

The swap is great! If you want to retain your A/C let me know I offer a custom bracket that allows you to run A/C in your H22a swap!!! I personally have it in my Integra and the handling is good!

a fried has it done, it has a little excessive nose dive in corners, but he runs 13.3 1/4 (it is gutted but only a intake and header on it)

Heh... yeah, straight out of my mouth (after Hybrid Track Day in Buttonwillow last month... that was fun )

As for the AC, it works and we're using it now on an EK. On a EG, you have to move the AC condensor fan to infront of the AC condensor in order to make it work since there's not enough clearance..... I sell the same bracket that can be used on either EG or EK with a H22 swap.

H22 is the **** when it comes to horsepower in a Civic. It's just the same as driving a prelude everyday, except you're in a smaller car. Go ahead and do it. I wish I had a damn H22, I'd swap everything I have for an H22... I'm jealous

can anyone elaborate on how hard it is to rewire your harness for this swap. i have a 92 dx hatch that i'm trying to decide what motor to swap into. i was going to build b20vtec but a guy here in arlington, tx has an eg with this swap i/h/e and he is hella fast. i was also wondering what the specifics are on how to hook up the prelude shift cables. thanks

if you're in S. Cali Prospeed does it for 4K out the door. that's a nice deal. or you could piece it all together yourself and maybe do it a lil cheaper if you wanna do the labor/wiring
