Default Who spends $$$ modding their beater?

I figure I post here since most of you have beaters.
I just purchased a Corolla GTS, for grins and kicks and "beater" purposes (eg. Costco, movies, or whatever).
I just spent more than I wanted modifying this 15 year old car. Intake, TRD headers, just bought rims for the damn thing.
My intent was just to get it Maaco painted to look half *** decent, and now, I spend hours online and ebay looking for other goodies.

A 90 Corolla really isn't worth modding

Next beater will probably be an EK 4-door w/ a B20Z, but that's a couple of years away--this beater still has a long life ahead of it!

Well its not really a beater but so far I added a weapon-r intake and eibach springs to my mom's 2002 Honda oddysey. Four words its fun with freinds... Well I only use the car when many off my freinds want to cruise and don't want a convoy of cars cause of the dumb recon laws we got down here in Hawaii. Or just to haul parts...

All my cars are modded in some way, including the beaters.

245 DL: IPD "turbo" 2.25" exhaust (old one rusted out - why not upgrade? ). Volvo "GT" steering wheel, OE tachometer. CD player + speakers + amp + sub, custom gunmetal rims (painted the steelies). "Shaved" roof rack. Custom CAI.

Picked up an 89 BMW 325i with a "blown" motor for $400. I tossed a yard motor in it and promised myself it would be just a beater... (salt car). Now its lowered, new shocks, new brakes, CD player, filter charger... damn... you gotta hate it when your beater take $$ away from your R

I only have a single car atm, but my lawnmower is my "other ride" >> working on a computerized fuel management (just manual right now), new plug , will port the exhaust a bit and has a high flow airintake on it.

Right now the ETA for the 1/4 is around 5minutes maybe? I'm looking to trim a bit off that though. BTW, this is a walk behind Honda (you can ride it but it's hard).
