Default HELP: just used crome and now i have a check engine light

so i bought a gsr swapped hatch that was running excellent. the guy told me he had a seperate chip that was more agressive. My buddy has crome and we looked at it on the rom burner thing and saw that it was very agressive. So i got curious and we took out the current chip and looked it and added features like, rev limiter, shift stuff and some other things. We save it and go to put it back in the car and its not the same. I even removed the ecu fuse for 15 seconds or more, tried it again. The computer for crome pulls up the stats and they all look the same, but when you go to put it back in the ecu, it starts up with a check engine light, and wont rev past 4000. What did i do wrong? did i fry the ecu? HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks

Sounds like the car is running in limp mode. Did you removed the checksum routine before burning the chip?

nevermind, i just did some research. I guess i will just put the chip back in the rom burner at my buddies when i get a chance and all i have to do is remove the checksum routine and add the datalogger feature?

UPDATE

Finally got the car running. I put the chip back in the burner and pulled my gsr.bin and changed some things and removed the checksum routine "whatever that is" , then added datalogger + RIP and then PUT and now my car runs fine. I think its not QUITE the same though. I checked my plugs and they look a little lean compared to brown but i did a compression test and still got 210 across the board The car was tuned on vtec engaging at 4750 and at 5500 but now its 4500 and 6000 with the same fuel tables though. Could this make it drive slightly different? BUMP

Just get your car tuned right! Get it on the dyno and tune air/fuel, timing and the Vtec point.
