Alright, so about a week and a half ago my tach started jumping around a little bit. I was told that it could be a few different things, one of which was that the distributer could be getting ready to take a ****. Yesterday I was driving home from running some errands when for some reason it wouldn't rev past 4k rpm....Now, this isn't something that it was doing all the time, sometimes it would miss up top, sometimes it would run perfect, and others it seemed as if it was just hitting the rev limiter at 4k rpm.
Here is where it kind of gets weird. Last night it threw code 17, which is VSS. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the VSS, because if i remember right, my launch control is set at 4k rpm. On top of everything lately my battery has been drained when I go to start it in the morning, which is probably an isolated thing.
So, do you think it is distributer? Grounding issue perhaps? Let me know what you think and thank you in advance.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere, and inconsistent voltage. When is the last time you replaced your cap / rotor assembly? The Vss may be coincidence.
Edit: I see you have launch control, that may have allot to do with this. Sounds like theres a malfunction or short that activates your launch control when you driving normal ( or aggressive, i dont know how you drive
)
Battery dying overnight? sounds like a bad ground somwhere or bad wiring in general.
What modifications have been made to your car that involve re-wiring anything? Should trace back the steps, see what you missed.

well, the only wiring that isn't stock is the VTEC wiring as well as VSS (the plug was effed up and I spliced a new plug in) and iacv conversion.
I'll take the distributer apart and see what i find. The odd thing is that the dist. is actually fairly new. I'll also take the launch control off...thank god for having a rom burner lol.
anyone else have anything to throw in?
