Default 1994 Honda Accord Many new owner questions

Good afternoon all,
I just got a pretty beat up 1994 Accord LX automatic transmission 4dr. I need to probably do a lot of work to get it running well again , so I am here with a lot a questions from what I have been reading I am sure you all can help with. Basically the car is running like shiite right now and I want to be able to improve the gas mileage and ride itself. I am almost positive the catalytic has to be replaced as well as the shocks

Currently the car has a check engine light on as well as a ABS light on , on it, what is the easiest way to see what those mean?

Whenever I start to accelerate the car bucks a bit and then bucks again (is slight but noticeble) before the RPMS drop down. Can you give me some reasons as to why this may be?

What would be the best equipment to replace on the shocks etc, to smooth the car out and tighten up the steering?

These are all I can think of for now. Any all help is appreciated and thanks to those who created this forum for car idiots like me to be able ask questions and get answers!

with that many miles, i'd clean out the EGR ports. There should be a sticky in this section on how to do it. Fairly easy and cheap. It'll make your car run alot better.

As far as the CE light and ABS light, have a shop scan it out. Otherwise, pull the codes yourself. Theres also a writeup on how to do that too.

Welcome aboard

Thank you for the welcome! I admit I am not that mechanically inclined so will be going slow on all this. What exactly do the EGR ports do? Also what would be the best struts for this car?

YeuEmMaiMai,
Ok how do I do this? Please understand before now i never worked on cars, so am getting crash course (no pun intended).

I also had a mechanic check the CEL and ABS. I need to replace the oxygen sensor for the CEL and the ABS Sensor on the left front. Are these hard to do? Where in the heck is the oxygen sensor on my honda?
