Default obd2a itr vs ctr ecu...which one would work better?

Which one would work better on an ITR jdm motor. I know the itr ecu is recommended but Ive heard that these motors are compatible with the ctr ecu as well (redline is higher with ctr ecu). Just looking for info before I screw something up. Do they have the same mapping and vtec x-over points?

thanks for the help.

Redline is the same for both. If you're running an ITR engine, use the ITR ECU. Honda designed the maps for that motor, and there won't be a benefit to running the CTR ECU.
