Default CTR crank pully or LS?

I have both the ctr and the ls crank pullys andI am wondering whick one I should use? the ctr weighs less than 2 lbs where as the LS weighs nearly 10! I have a CX so all I have is the altenator to run so I bought this pully and now question if I should have bought it.

BTW its a mostly stock B18B with GSR trans

Leave the stock pulley on there. You won't free up any HP and you will likely reduce bearing life by adding a pulley that was balanced on another rotating assembly. Sell both of them and use the money you make to buy an oil change and transmission fluid

If you are paranoid do not run the ctr. I however have had my ctr pulley on my b18b for 7 years with no problems or noisy bearings. I did see a little quicker revs and an improved quarter by .3sec maybe a mile or 2 better gas milage on average. The only downfall I see with mine is that I cannot put my ac back in but who needs that.

Actually, removing the power steering and using the CTR pulley is one of the best street modifications you can do in my opinion. It frees up so much lost power when turning the car, and the engine does rotate much quicker, which makes matching revs a breeze.

I've had my CTR pulley on for almost 6 years now, with over 100k miles on the engine with no adverse affects. (knock on wood so far)

I havn't driven with this motor yet (mounts in the mail) and I have a cx that has no AC or PS anyways...and the crank pulley is brand new so would it be ballanced to a ctr or itself?

Its balanced for the CTR. Just run the stock LS crank pulley. Its not going to make that big of a difference. Save your bearings and life of the bottom end and just use the stock one.

All this lightened bullshit FTL

For all the ctr is bad boohoo someone should do a poll and see how many engines were actually damaged from this mod. I know quite a few people who have been running these with no problems. I would be confident if the poll went two months with maybe one person having a problem. Also for the kind of miles I have put on with one and from what it looks like "hater" has it seems like you would be hitting the nega-lotto if it did damage a bearing. Balanced pulley for ctr is balanced for ls too.

If you only have the alternator, run the CTR pulley. During all my years here and through countless solid pulley debates, I have yet to see anyone present actual direct evidence of solid pulleys causing engine damage. If they're as destructive as some people claim, where is the proof? Between eBay, Unorthodox Racing, OEM CTR, and others, there must be thousands upon thousands of Honda and Acura owners running some sort of solid crank pulley, yet when was the last time there was a thread on H-T regarding some sort of catastrophic engine failure because of them?
