Its awesome! At one time I thought I need to get better suspension. Then, thanks to the help of others, I understood what kind of car the ITR is and how nice the stock suspension. Those other cars are in a different class. For its class the ITR is ready to ride. With the right diver that car is well ........

If you go by magazine stats, the car is amazing. One European mag recorded the ITR as having the second-best stopping distance from some given mph of any car they had ever tested. The only car to beat it was the McLaren F1. I forget which magazine it was but the article is on http://www.itrsport.com

It also records some amazing slalom speeds and lateral acceleration numbers. Which is too bad because most people only buy the damn thing to drive it in a straight line.

It handles as well as most Ferrari made before 1995...it out handles the Testarossa, and the larger 12 cylinder cars. I turn quicker laps in my ITR at VIR than I can in my 328.......so....there you go....BUT....I would never sell my Ferrari for an ITR.

Just my 2 cents,

Ciao'

Even my GSR can outhandle an FR Corolla. Well for now, my GTS is all stock suspension while my GSR is modded so it is not really a fair comparison at the moment.

I have no idea how you came to that conclusion based upon the website you listed. Remember, while skidpad numbers are important, they are too highly dependent on the type of tire and air pressure to be all that useful when comparing handling (not just lateral acceleration).

The Type R is an awesome car that handles near the top stock, but to say that the list of cars that handle better than the ITR is that short is nuts, IMO!

But, in its price range, nothing beats the ITR when it comes to handling. That is for sure.

What isn't highly dependent on the type of tire when testing handling?
You slap $50,000 qualifying slicks on a civic, and it will out handle a ferrari.

I think the Civic will stay at it's spot. It will be glued to the ground!!!!

Kind of a ridiculous comparison, dont you think? How about being more scientific about it at least putting the same tires on the car so we know what the car's suspension is doing rather than the tires.

The NSX isnt on your list..and neither is the s2000. Both are Honda products that easily outhandle the ITR. That is all I am saying...the ITR is a great handling car but there are LOTS of cars out there that will outhandle it (but not anywhere near its price point).

True, but I've never seen a test that has done that.
You would also have people who would want the same brand of shocks or struts on both cars, same size wheels, same weight, etc, etc...
For a testing a stock setup, latter accel is a good test IMHO.

90% driver, 10% car. I've passed Ferraris on the race track with my '73 2.0L Capri.
