they want to trade it straight across? i know there is a catch or something, they aren't going to just trade straight across. I'm thinking you mean as a trade in and then you get stuck with the rest of the bill. If that's the case, you're going to get lowballed like a ****.. so better tighten up your pitchin skillz and sell salt to a slug.
Yeah. im thinkin bout the same. Dealerships are out to make money, and with that deal they wont be doing that. Either there is something wrong with the type s and they cant sell it, or you will be getting hit with the rest of the bill. You need to really make you do your research on the other car, and find out the previous history on it. Dont say, " cause its a dealership i know its a good car", cuz that is not always the case.
i agree, my parents used to work for a dealership and there is somwthing not right aout that deal if it is straight across, doubtful. ask em if you can have the car checked out by your own mechanic and se their response, if there not willing, somethings def up with that car

Good advice. I have done this with every car I have bought.

I think its odd that a dealership would just do a straight trade like that because they're giving you a car that retails at 18k for a car that retails at 14k. You should definitely get it inspected by your own mechanic and test drive it. Make sure there aren't any circumstances that they weren't telling you and what not and see if you can get a car fax report for the car. If this is an honest trade, then your one damn lucky person
if the car is in good condtion and the title is clean then yea it's a great ******* deal...but i suggest you get it checked by your mechanic to make sure it is working properly
yea i know i got to make sure there is no catch and **** cuz thas wat im doin rite now askin tha guy hella questions but no to long ago i got a letter from tha dealer that i bought it from and they wanted to do a buy back cuz they need 2004 cars or someshit so maybe it has to do with that but we will see what happens and the price is tha same cuz mine cost 18999 but they lowered it 17999 cuz good credit and tha type-s cost 18985 so i will see was up
With the mileage listed, KBB on the base model is 15K, and on the type-s is 18K. If everything checks out on the type s, then go for it cuz it is definately a good deal. Good luck with your decision.
I dont see a dealership doing an even trade. They want you in another vehicle. By getting you to trade your vehicle they are making 2 additional sales. The type s to you and then your base to a NEW customer. It is all a money game!
