Hello to everyone. I'm new here and pretty new to Hondas in general. I just sold my old '85 Mercedes turbo diesel which I loved to work on on the weekends,(great car!) after taking my dad's 2000 Accord DX. It's been a great car to him, basically needing only brakes, tires, and fluid changes. Definitely trouble free for the first 100K miles (has 104K).

Only "luxury items" this car has is A/C and automatic trans (unfortunately).
He moved up to a Lexus.

Compared to the Mercedes it handles pretty well (probably being 700 lbs lighter helps) but I wanted to make it more exciting to drive. I have an Eibach pro-kit on order from TireRack and I ordered an Acura TL Type S rear sway bar and bushings/brackets for it for like $40 bucks which seemed like a sweet deal.

Unfortunately when I was poking around under the car today I couldnt find the rear sway bar. Am i correct in stating that the Accord DX does NOT have a rear sway bar or am I just blind? I found the front one easily but for the life of me I couldn't find the rear.

Hell even my old Merc had one... i thought only crappy American boats from the 70s had no rear sway bar.

Can anyone with a DX chime in here?

 

DX, at least 5th gens didn't come with one, I'm going to assume in 6th they didn't either

 

Yeah it definitely has no sway bar. Can I still put one in though? I can't see where the brackets and links would go, can anyone post a picture of their setup? I've found a few DIY links online but the pics are not clear enough.

 

I would imagine you can, I never got around to modding my DX so I haven't done it personally but have heard of people doing it, you MAY have to tap holes yourself.
