My sister has a 2000 Accord V6 and the SRS light came on. Does that mean something is wrong with the airbag? Her car is already over 36k miles. is the airbag still covered under warranty?

 

Some Accords had faulty SRS sensors in the front bumper. I believe there was a recall on those.
Contact your local Honda dealership to confirm this.

 

SRS has a lifetime warranty mandated by law. Just take it to a dealer.

 

hmmm...not true.. this car could have been involved in an accident at one time and Honda isn't going to pay for someone elses mistake..

The worse part is when the consumer isn't aware of the fact the car has been previously smashed, then they take it to the dealership to see what is causing the SRS indicator to illuminate, and we have to tell them the part isn't under warranty cause the car's been crushed at one point!

 

How can you tell the car has been hit?

 

Well it's a 2000 V6 I assumed they bought it new and have never been in an accident.
