Hey I just got a new (to me) 94' EX. Long story short the body/interior etc is in good shape but the car runs like a dog. I know it is supposed to be a slow car but it is really really slow (feels like a 19-20sec car).

anyways, since I bought it after the car runs for a min of two the cel would always go off. Well today I look for the jumper harness and cant find it. I look at the ecu and the middle 3 things say p30. I don't know jack about b-series motors and it doesn't look like the p28 in my crx so is this really a p30 ecu.

the p30 is from a obd1 b16a right? this will make the car run like *** and make the cel go off right?

the P30 will have a CEL because the EX doesn't have a knock sensor.

as far as how it runs, the Z6 will run like crap on the stock P30. But which engine do you have?
did they do a B16 swap?
is the P30 chipped?

if you have the Z6 and the P30 is not chipped then a P28 will make the car run like it should.

 

it currently has a d16z6. which is why I think it runs like ****. the p30 probably has a lot more fuel (too rich) and more timing since it has a 6mm larger bore (too much timing).

my brother has a chip burner, chips and crome pro so I think I will take it over there later and have him burn me a stock p28 program. that should work right?

 

yeah u will either need a p28 ecu or have that p30 chipped.. unchipped p30 ecu will make your d16z6 engine runs like ****...and also is your car manual or auto? ecu has manual and auto too..amke sure u get the right one..or get it chipped the right way
