alright so i have a 99 dx hatchback. the motor is a d15b vtec. so am taking out the step down harness because am getting alot of problems. so will a ex obd2 vtec ecu work for example a P2P ecu. i have a friend who said to do it. and if vtec doesn't engage just run the wires straight to the ecu.

What is a stepdown harness? Conversion harness? The SOHC vtec ecu will run that setup ok but the ideal ecu would be the one that belongs with it.
