possible smoke?????????????????
i have a 94 gsr with 73,000 on it and today when i was driving in front of my friend he said he saw what looked like smoke when i engaged vtec. he said it didnt look like oil but maybe more like a rich fuel mixture. the car doesnt leak any oil and i cant smell any oil burning. i was wondering if any body has any input on this??

how can you fix the running rich thing??

At WOT the O2 sensor is not used (open loop) and the car intentionally runs a bit rich. Don't worry about it unless you are getting poor fuel economy or your bumper cover has soot accumulation.
yeah i have an apexi catback... stock cat and header....i think its my 02 sensor because my cel came on but went off...vtec still worked with the cel on
black smoke = rich mixture.. blueish smoke=oil... no need for a fuel pressure regulator... it will just expletive **** up and your computer will start trippin...that and your injectors are designd to run within a psi range... if its at over 75% throttle i'd say its normal... if its under that then you probably need to check your O2 sensor... so hows your gas milage?

And how exactly will an adjustable FPR **** your car up?
Don't spread stupid **** like that, without giving a Good reason,
the only thing it would do is "if" you don't have a gauge, either run rich, or lean.
But really, who would buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator without a gauge?
And just to be slightly on topic, if the smoke isn't that much, no soot buildup like dogg said,
then it's no big deal like you may have found out so far.

it really depends what cel. if it's a crucial cel, it puts the car in limp mode, and no, vtec won't hit. if it's something not so important, then it still will. it's just letting you know that something is wrong.
