which way is better n y

ok... i been thinking which way is better? base coat (1st coat) n than clear coat (2nd coat) or mix them both? n y?

i'd say mix it all together, and then spray it out of a super soaker

haha. no, but obviously 2 stage. umm... last longer and looks better?
