dc5 clutch
ok time for a new clutch, will hardly drive....need advice or pointers.....can i drop the tranny out without using a lift to disemble the subframe or sould i just take it to a transmission shop and save the hassel. can anyone who has done this themselve give advice. thanks guys
Save yourself the time and have the shop do it. It will cost you $$ but if your willing to do the work yourself, give yourself about 8 hours to do the job correctly, maybe longer. You will also have to remove the sub frame but will be easier with a lift. Theres a DIY on clubrsx.com, just search for it.
It's a BIOTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun with this if you do it yourself.. cuz it isn't fun. I b|tched the whole time i took my tranny out. Was cussing worse then a sailor. If you got the money take it to a shop if you don't have fun and hope you have all the right tools and everything you need.
It's not that bad. There are a few bolts that are a pita. However, dropping the subframe isn't that much of an ordeal. We used an engine hoist to hold the engine up while the subframe was out. I'm sure there is a easier way to do it though.
