Default question about 90-91 hf cluster...SEARCHED

hey guys i have been searching my *** off for the past 2 weeks looking for a answer to my question. Out of all the threads i have looked at none has an answer.

90-91 efs only use 90-91 clusters i understand that. I know that the 88-89 will not work unless you convert brackets behind the cluster. my question is does the hf model only work with the hf cluster WITHOUT modification? i appreciate your replies in advance!!!

there was something that someone was telling me will not work with the hf cluster thing is on my crx the person who owned it before me tried to do a si cluster swap and they plugged everything up correct (i checked) and it did not work. i come across more si clusters than hf's. anyone with some input that has done a cluster swap on a hf?

i also had a 90 civic std, with a si cluster while i was still running the 8 valve, as far as i know they are entirely interchangable.
