Default I have a question about roll bars.......

Hey guys im looking into buying an auto power roll bar for my 97 coupe, and i found one for sale for cheap. But the guy said it came out of his ek hatch. So im wondering if it will fit in my car. Now if it was a cage i could understand why it wouldnt but since this is only a roll bar, i think it might. Also i already checked the application list on auto powers web site, but it was no help because they dont differnentiate between coupe and hatch.

body of the ek, ej, em are the same thing. Just the rear ends are extended or shortened. Good choice on the roll bar btw.

yeah it should work. i would think it might be different if it was a full cage, but if it's just the back portion, it should be fine.

Actually, hatchbacks and coupes are identical from the B-pillar forward. From the B-pillar on back, they are different in many ways. Keep in mind that the coupe has a rear deck and a narrower trunk pass-through that aren't found in the hatchback.

Whether the Autopower hatchback bar will work in a coupe or not, I have no idea.

it will most definitely, without a doubt, 100% work.

I have a kirk cage, which is made with very very small clearances around the entire bar. I have a 99 cx and its was in my buddy's Si for a while. If a handmade, detailed roll bar will work then a autopower bar will most assuredly work.

Not to mention autopower makes no distinction between between a rollbar for ANY 96-00 civic. you're covered. go for it

I hear that cuscos cage have to be altered for ex/si's because of sunroof. That's why I said what I did. But I know we're not discussing cusco cages. Lol

well its not installed, i just sat it in there to see if everything lined up, and it did. I still have to have it bead blasted and the powdercoated, and then i have to paint my interior before it actually goes in for good.

i actually got one quote back today, for the blasting and painting in any standard gloss color it would be $325.
