Default aftermarket rods on b16 pistons?

I was talking to a buddy of mine about my setup and mentioned what pistons i was gonna run and that i was looking for rods and he said he heard or wasnt sure that you couldnt run aftermarket rods on stock pistons

i got .50 pr3 pistons. im guessing honda made these. onlything the box says
is SP12-103 and the model it fits. but theyll be exactly the same as stock pistons just .50 over.

and i was gonna use an aftermarket LS rods for an ls/vtec setup could anyone please clear this up for me?

Aftermarket rods are designed for a floating pins and oem pistons are designed for pressed pins. The pistons would need to be machined for clips. At that point your better off just getting forged aftermarket pistons.

damn this is a bummer. i might just end up getting my ls rods drilled for the bigger arp rod bolts at this point.

ARP bolts are a drop it for ls rods. They should be resized but there is no drilling involved. The bigger bolts are for gsr rods.
