Default CIVIC SI HELP!!! <---------- PARTS QUESTION

My 2003 Honda Civic SI just ripped through the Serpentine Belt. We were just informed that the AC Compressor is broken and needs repair. We have been told that we will need.. a compressor, dryer, orface tube and r134 part. All of this will total atleast 1,200 dollars.

We are not concerned about the A/C working right now as winter is coming! So is it imperative to have the orifice tube changed as well as the r134 and the dryer, if we are not planning on using the A/C what-so-ever?

We found a compressor already, but not the other parts. If we do need them, where would you suggest we find them or where does everyone here go?

Thank you!
PetShopSquirrel

p.s. This is what we were quoted for said parts.
$65 for a Dryer
$65 for an Orifice Tube
$65 for an R134
Ironic isn't it?

if you aren't going to use your A/C you don't need any of those parts. those are all A/C specific parts.

LMAO.. love your name "*******" that's funny

OP:
Just as ******* said, it's not really a big deal to even have A/C especially there in Co. I know it doesn't get insanely hot there. You could slowly get all peices or save up the money. A/C is just a luxary in cars and not detrimental.

The dryer and tube you can pick up from a junkyard or something and the R134 is frickin freon lol, you can get that at autozone or Kragen for like 6-8 bucks a can, you should only need 2 or you can get the recharge kit for around 25-30 bucks
