ZC swap won't start - help!
OK guys, did this swap a few weeks ago and I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't start. It's swapped into a '90 Si and I've double checked all the dizzy wiring. When I first did the wiring I had the 2 white wires backwards and it threw the CEL light. Switched them around and no CEL, but the car still won't start. The car ran fine with the stock d16a6 except the headgasket was starting to go, hence why I swapped in the ZC.
The car cranks and cranks and every once in a while sputters for a split second.
Things I've tried/checked:
-Made sure cam timing / belt are good and lined up on TDC on cylinder #1
-Compression check shows 185psi all accross
-Swapped dizzy with a known working one from an '89 Integra
-Pulled all 4 spark plugs and tried cranking it with the plugs grounded against the valve cover - all 4 have good spark
-Swapped fuel rail / injectors / FPR from a known running d16a6
-Has fuel pressure - tried cranking it with the fuel rail and injectors out of the IM and all 4 injectors spray (have 1/2 a tank of 91 octane gas)
-Tried a different PM6 ECU
I'm so frustrated with this thing. Any help would be much appreciated!

Oh and I've double checked that all the fuses are good, and all the engine grounds are connected and I even added 2 more just incase....
That is a tought one, if its getting fuel and spark into the cyinders then it almost has to be timming. fuel + spark + compression = run when timming is correct. double check the firing order, make sure the wires are in the correct order.

Thanks for the reply... Already done that too. I've double checked the firing order as well as the timing...

I've got a new cap, but I'll double check the rotor too... When I pulled the plugs and grounded them they all fired and had a good spark.

From the top left of the dizzy going clockwise I've got it at 1-3-4-2. Everything I've seen online says that's correct, but if anyone can verify that would be great.
Thanks for the ideas so far guys.
I just triple checked the cam timing and the belt was a little loose so I tightened it up snug, but all the markings are dead on. I'm on my way to the junker to see if I can pick up another injector resistance box. One of the few things that I haven't changed yet.

Alright, tried a new resistor box. Same thing. Took the cap off the dizzy and the rotor looks fine. Tomorrow I'll try to find another distributor I can use.

Just went downstairs and tried it, didn't work... Everything I've seen for the DOHC ZC says it should be 1342.

one huge question did u check your main relay under your dash next to where your hood poper is at ? that was the same Fnnnnnnn problem that i had for about a week will hear clicking noise sometimes will turn over but wont crank
good luck

The original Si harness and I modified the plug for the dizzy / cam position sensor.

Nope I hear it click evey time and I hear the fuel pump prime and have fuel pressure...

I've tried starting it in a couple different positions.. full advanced, fully retarded, and one or 2 somewhere in the middle. No change

Every now and then I will have to have someone turn the motor over while I turn it slowly back and forth. You will hear when it is in a good spot. If you have fuel ans spark then it should crank up.

Just because it is clicking does not mean all the contacts are good. My main relay went out this past weekend and it was still clicking but the car would not start.
use this website to test continuity of the contacts while the relay is energized

I have fuel pressure and spark so I couldn't see it being the relay, but I'm running out of things to try so I'll give it a go...

I understand you are getting fuel pressure, but are your fuel injectors firing? When I did my gsr swap I had a wiring issue and they injectros would not pulse, but I would get spark. What ecu are you running? Is your ecu good? Try a small amount of gas or starter fluid down the intake and crank it and see if it fires.

I pulled the fuel rail with injectors out of the IM and got a friend to crank it and all 4 injectors were firing. It's running the stock PM6 ecu and I've tried another PM6 with the same results... I haven't tried putting any gas in the intake but I'll give it a try.

If it is spraying gas, And firing at the right time, and the timing is correct it should crank. Do you have a digital camera? If so record a video of you trying to crank it.
